Lost Cigarette ad
Filed under: Ideas by Joseph on Thursday, 26th November 2009 at 2:10 pmMy new favourite show is Twin Peaks. It’s from the early 90′s and it may or may not be the best show ever. It ran for two seasons only to great critical acclaim, however, the ratings were low and it was forced to go off the air. The intro is an amazing slow series of really long shots set to the music of Angelo Badalamenti (who did the music to all of Lynch’s projects and who’s song, “Red Bats With Teeth” was the inspiration for my softball team!).
Lynch has also been doing commercials over the years for everything from cars to perfumes (sorry, fragrances). They all have an abstract, what-the? quality to the them. They’re cool as much as a commercial can be cool, I guess, but one in particular really caught me off guard. It’s a very original and interesting cigarette ad. It doesn’t make me want to become a smoker, but it does make me want to make weird reversed videos of people kneeling in puddles…
