Empathy seems to be the new go-to idea for explaining lots of unknown human phenomena. Just the other day the Bio 12 kids asked why yawning is contagious and in doing some research, BINGO! empathy gets the credit (as one theory to explain it). I agree, correlation does not equal causation. Is empathy a fundamental human characteristic? Is it one of the things that help define us as a species? Or is it just another correlation.

Seems to me that the new best solution to quell global warming would be to increase the number of pirates. And since the earth was much cooler when the old style pirates were around, it makes sense to increase that kind of pirate.More parrots, eye patches, and curved sabres = less melting ice caps!! Where was this argument in Copenhagen?
