World peace for nine year olds

Is it just me or have TED talks dipped in quality over the past few years? Seems like you need to go through a couple before finding the really good ones. I sincerely enjoyed this one about a teacher who designed a special game for nine year olds to help them understand how the world operates. It sounds like an amazing class and formative experience but I just wonder what it must be like to be the teacher who gets these students the year after. John Hunter sets the bar high.

  1. Makes me want to give a shout out to Rex Brynen at McGill. His ‘Peacebuilding and Post-Conflict Reconstruction’ course with the Brynania peacebuilding simulation was one of the most unique, engaging and effective learning experiences I ever had at school.

Unfortunately I can’t seem to listen to this because of my internet connection, but I guess CBC did a story on it this year:

I wasn’t 9 years old at the time, but it was so revolutionary of a teaching method to me that I might as well have been.
