More choices isn’t always a good thing

I don’t have any of these references handy but a couple examples are Atul Gawande, in his book Complications, talks about how giving patients more choice has some important drawbacks, Barry Schwartz on the paradox of choice, and when people think about choices they are less likely to support policy that helps others.
